Waltz of Emigrants ©, 2014 --- Keep Calm and Slow Down Your Sadness ;-)

Introduction:

No, I cannot afford* to be sad and as such to represent this song in its original nostalgic sense, thought I should always fight any momentary weakness in the minutes of any occasional frustration ... Additionally, I even discovered a supporting knowledge that in my new country those with a heartsick are not eligible to be respected at least in the manner as more successful individuals. Yap, same thing as that "Moscow does not believe in tears". Hence in all my works I represent the only (my) positive view on the world of imperfect people - our world. In the words of my U.S. President: "The best is yet to come" or in the words of apparently blocked by liable mudslingers my own YouTube video: "I Believe In Better Fate". That is.

Waltz of Emigrants*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbJ8dnNmHJ8

1
Please, explain me all that - why my heart is so restless
Why I like to observe how freely the clouds are flown
So I whispering: when you fly over that fairly Russia
Please transfer my hello to all souls and guys

R
See, beyond windows a wind the last leaves rips off
They aren't gonna, like we, who will never come back
Waltz of emigrants is so gracefully performed by autumn
Emigrants of the beautiful country, this waltz is played for you

2
I have changed the places - the bridges behind were not burned
Since my heart and the soul are always with me
We have choices and follow natural wish of discovery
So we shall be as happy as happiness can only be

R
See, beyond windows a wind the last leaves rips off
They aren't gonna, like we, never come back
Waltz of emigrants is so gracefully performed by autumn
Emigrants of the beautiful country, this waltz is played for you

3
I my dreams I may see the bridal dress of the birches
And the rowans at windows in scarlet like flame in harvest
We cannot escape from ourselves and even skip all efforts
Since from a childhood as homeland was Russia for us.

R
See, beyond windows a wind the last leaves rips off
They aren't gonna, like we, never come back
Waltz of emigrants is so gracefully performed by autumn
Emigrants of the beautiful country, this waltz is played for you

ORIGINAL RUSSIAN LYRIC

1

The Officers ©, 2014

Doing my Singing Translations I capture the true color of the original music, so their tune is never changed and you can and should follow the original seize and bit of the same music at your performance or even domestic purr :-). Once again, all my translations are proved to their tunes, so you are encouraged to try with your own performance.

(Learn Russian :-)

I am citizen of The United States - country of immigrants. Independently from a fact that such a song about military officers is a long time anticipated, or like here, due cause my modest participation became available just now being slightly adjusted to worldwide issues stably created by still imperfect people, I did it by my own call, just to respond timely.

The Officers are color of a nation in any country. They are our beauty and worldwide representatives. They're mostly commissioned by sovereign power of their country and many of them were specifically commissioned being yet cadets. History knows many bright examples of their heroical durability and allegiance, and that was always highly appreciated by opposing army professionals.

Each of them represented their country and all they together are always represent The Officers. Russian officers and audience stand in attention from the first accords of the song, which I see shall be appropriated worldwide, and as such I've done its translation into English. Thanks to the author, Oleg Gazmanov, who said that "This song belongs to millions of people", it is clear that latter is not a property of a Russian Federation, and I'd like to clarify - it is designed to praise The Officers. Thanks.

Listen it in English. Thanks for your service, Officers!

1
I am singing, The Officers
Hitting the stretched nerves^
I am turning to faith^
 Within all the accords
You abandoned career^
And at no hesitation
Taking deadly threat on a chest
 For your country as is^

2
You survive your deployment^
Thought your honor's not messed
And career was not built^
 On the soldiers blood^
Hence I sing to The Officers^
Who heeded then mothers' pleas^
And returned to them^
 Their sons^ being alive^

R
You're commissioned^ , you're commissioned^
And your hearts are at gunpoint^
For your country^
And its freedom^  to the end
You're commissioned^ , you are guard^ ,
Let the freedom will be bright^
And encourages our hearts^
To sound in the unison.

3
I am singing, The Officers,
how can we secure all your trust^ ?
On the open graves^
all your souls are wheezing.
Oh, my God, what we brothers, have committed^
we indeed could not save them
Hence they all are eternally^
 starring in our eyes

4
And again new deployment^ ,
our guys disappear in sunset
There was country call^ ,
as this always happened to be^
And again you are leaving^ ,
maybe, straight to the heaven^
And then from your heights^
 you'll excuse all of us^

So, where are you leaving^ ,
maybe, straight to the heaven^
And then from your heights^
 you'll excuse all of us^

R
You're commissioned^ , you're commissioned^
And your hearts are at gunpoint^
For your country^
And its freedom^  to the end
You're commissioned^ , you are guard^ ,
Let the freedom will be bright^
And encourages our hearts^
To sound in the unison.

R
You're commissioned^ , you're commissioned^
And your hearts are at gunpoint^
For your country^
And its freedom^  to the end
You're commissioned^ , you are guard^ ,
Let the freedom will be bright^
And encourages our hearts^
To sound in the unison.

I am writing, as I am feeling, being reluctant to sweet- talk ... so I believe that the deliberate omission in my work the personalness, like Russia, Afghanistan will not diminish a song quality.

Note to better performance:
Each line was especially divided in two parts to follow tune; the sign "^" means raising of a voice;

Also for this song:
"You're commissioned" means "You are The Officer", because in American English the stress in the word "officer" is on the first vowel, but in Russian, the language of original work, the stress is already on the third vowel, hence to take tune untouched wording became just slightly changed.

1

Note related to still running  political conflict in Ukraine and tensions with "Baltiyshinaa" - the famous title awarded then to Lithuania - Latvia - Estonia by Mikhail Gorbachev :-))

The abbreviation USSR is not any kind of unacceptable language or wording. Millions of people of all possible nationalities and faith were born in the former state USSR; even foreign born, those, whose parents had served their deployment abroad, also lived some time in USSR. There are forever two poles and two competitors: United States and Russia, USSR legal successor. That is.

He has not come back from a battle ©, 2014 --- ("The Song about Friend - Tribute", by translator's remark)

Vladimir Vysotsky's Legacy

In accordance to my recent finding of article about Anthony Qualin, researcher from Texas - http://www.wysotsky.com/0006/040.htm - Americans study Russian through Russian literature, Russian music (here Lyric and Music of Vladimir Vysotsky).

Like I told already my hypothetical audience I can afford to look into another guys translations only after my own will be completed and published, I have finally decided to look into that prompt. And this is already about my Russian soul and abilities to feel and empathize, a-ha, cool! Surprisingly I have discovered that they have there the song just translated by me - http://coerll.utexas.edu/rr/retro/?v=6 - I wanted to say, wow, but ... Honestly, I could not survive their subtitles more 30 seconds and switched off. That is.

Also, I have found they "Texas cowboys" attached different name to the song the have attempted to represent before Fellows. This is a serious lapse for their self-representation :-(. They claim the title "Song about perished friend" from another song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYqLNv5dWiU - to the another much popular military time song aka "He has not come back from a battle" ("Он не вернулся из боя")  - this one I am offereing to you now - ... so they have confused everybody ... Please let to know Anthony Qualin about that ... mistake :-( ..., sorry for that.

He has not come back from a battle

Performer  Dmitry Pevtsov

1
Say me, why this' all wrong? When it all seems like always:
Same blue sky looks again toward us from above
Same is forest and air, and the same is a water
But the soldier | hasn't come back  from a battle
Same is forest and air, and the same is a water
But my friend | hasn't come back from a battle

2
As of today I cannot recall, who was right then from us
When we argued without a sleep and a rest
I am missing my friend only right now
When he hasn't come back from a battle
I am missing my friend only right now
When he hasn't come back from a battle

3
He was silent not to the place and he sang not in bit
And he never talked along topic
He removed me from sleep, he woke up with a dawn
Yesterday | he hasn't come back from a battle
He removed me from sleep, he woke up with a dawn
Yesterday | he hasn't come back from a battle

4
How's empty around today - I don't share with you my sorrow
Suddenly, I am realized that we lived side by side
As for me, fire of life was just blown by wind
Since I knew that he hasn't come back from a battle
As for me, fire of life was just blown by wind
Since I knew that he hasn't come back from a battle

5
Nowadays Spring has broken its longer time lag
So, mistakenly, I called him like always
"Hi, buddy, leave me a smoke" - only silence came back
Yesterday | he hasn't come back from a battle
Hi, buddy, leave me a smoke" - only silence came back
Yesterday | he hasn't come back from a battle

6
Fallen heroes won't leave us in troubles
Our fallen they're always the sentries
As a sky is mirrored in a wood like in water
All the trees just appeared as azured
As a sky is mirrored in a wood like in water
All the trees just appeared as azured

7
We have room and a lot in front-line one dugout
And the time - was then ticking for both of us.
All of this is today only for me; but I feel:
This is me who wasn't come back from a battle.
All of this is today only for me; but I feel:
This is me who wasn't come back from a battle.

"Feed Your Dogs Wisely!" ™ ©, 2014

The song which is offered to you in my next translation has a significant sense, a sufficient issue what to do or how to behave properly, with a dignity, or at least as a human being when you suddenly receive a long time anticipated freedom, include a freedom of expression.

The issue is, as follows: people getting high positions at work lose feeling of responsibility (politicians); all other people who desire economical changes do it by any cost through numerous illegal operations, include alleged business opportunities ...

The lyrics is supported by amateur video, which shows the famous role of Vladimir Vysotsky as a police detective (Russian militia after WWII) in the movie "The place of a meeting cannot be changed". The bandits and criminals have opposed laws. Unfortunately, at this point that is the only available video in Internet and that one is entirely dedicated to the law enforcement issues in Russia after WWII.

Vladimir Vysotsky's Legacy

FEED YOUR DOGS WISELY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKVlnfiK5Yo

1
Give to the dogs a meat
Maybe, they're gonna fight.
Give to hungovers brew
Perhaps, they'll get beaten

2
Not to have gorging corvus -
Place a lot of scarecrows.
People are fall in love -
Offer to them a living

3
Put the grains into ground -
Maybe, we'll get the shoots
Well, I'll be submissive -
Give me my freedom!

4
Dogs were given meat-waste
Failed to start fightings.
Drunken were given vodka -
Somehow appeared unresponsive

5
People went crows to scare
Corvus has ignored them.
Matchmakers connect couples
Since money don't smell

6
People gave water for sowing
No any shoots - what a miracle!
Yesterday, I was given a freedom.
What shall I do - Give me a wisdom!

"The Slavic Woman's Farewell" ©, 2014 - Translation from Polish version

From my past works and collection (e.g. http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1135821)

«Rozszumiały się wierzby placzące» - now in English too ...

and, sure, the famous song written by Polish teacher was adopted to the tune of ... powerful march - "The Slavic Woman's Farewell". That is. This is K.R.E.S.T. Project.

1
That was sign brought by weeping willows
And the girl started sobbingly cry
But by proudly shining her eyes
The farewell to the soldier was sent

R

Don't make noise, willows, to us
Don't frustrate by pain in heart
Don't cry my darling and the best
Not everything so bad being partisan

All weapons and ammunition
Stockpiles shall be secured
Since time is quite dangerous
We shall be brave, so don't cry

2
Heat and rain of potholed roads
Cannot slow the hasteless pace
This manner marches forestry infantry
Argus-eyed and so ready to smile

R

Don't make noise, willows, to us
Don't frustrate by pain in heart
Don't cry my darling and the best
Not everything so bad being partisan

All weapons and ammunition
Stockpiles shall be secured
Since time is quite dangerous
We shall be brave, so don't cry

3
Independently that road's continued
Non-awareness about the near one camp
We do have well defined victories
Gotten all by much blood and tears

R

Don't make noise, willows, to us
Don't frustrate by pain in heart
Don't cry my darling and the best
Not everything so bad being partisan

All weapons and ammunition
Stockpiles shall be secured
Since time is quite dangerous
We shall be brave, so don't cry.

P.S. I my singing interpretations I support the peaceful wording, as much as possible. The main point in the song is FAREWELL, but military fighting. That is.

"We're here The Defensive Shield!"

The popularity of the powerful marsh is continued to grow. There are many editions of the marsh worldwide, include languages: Hebrew (just below), Polish, allegedly in Japanese, Finnish, (both are not found yet) etc.

When latter was discovered by me I was wondering how that national adaptations can be understood by my Fellows, because in the heart of the marsh is Russian soul.

So, considering my CNN English I have been starting my work to bring it for you, readers, and my K.R.E.S.T. collection for your independent judgment. Just because I am able and I do fill out or restore the missed Russian soul in that adaptations to keep the marsh running and supportive all the best worldwide.

"A Hebrew version was written in 1945 by singer/songwriter Haim Hefer for the Palmach. In his version of the song, called בין גבולות (Between borders), Hefer coined the phrase אָנוּ פֹּה חוֹמַת מָגֵן (We are a defensive shield) used by Israel Defense Forces when naming Operation Defensive Shield in 2002."

I found very matched to contemporary time video as a musical support (for your fun) and that was done. There is movie "72 meter" (youtube.com/watch?v=xUDr6K_Bjco) - First Rank Russian Navy Officer refusing to serve Ukraine Navy - commands: "Orchestra ... Orchestra, "The Slavic Woman's Farewell"!
And this intro (made for fun by the clip author) is followed by video of the marsh performance by Israeli Army, which words I used to bring before your the Israeli this version. This is K.R.E.S.T. Project.

We can storm them and give you access
Further, no fortified walls or barriers
Nothing all could prevent us from move

Sure, I don't read or speak Hebrew etc., so the Hebrew version was borrowed for my engineering exercises (know-how) from webpage: historyonesong.com/2010/11/proschanie_slavyanki_2/ - verse fourth from the top to below.

Levite, ... assistant to the temple priest
Lamech, aka father of Noah ...

"The Slavic Woman's Farewell" ©, 2014 - Translation from Ukrainian version

From my past works and collection (e.g. http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1136473
"We will never fall down at knees
We are able to restore brotherhood ..."

Ukrainian Adaptation of "The Slavic Woman's Farewell" is now available in English. The Ukrainian author doing her Ukrainian version of the powerful march has found and spontaneously underlined light differences in mentality of that 360 years one folk ... And they are, just funny:

"Farewell, my darling glance,.." - Russian version says about feelings of a true love in mind and

"Farewell, my household and yard,.." - Ukrainian version says about "real estate", kind of in mind for business ...

Any questions about getting crazy before of "equal opportunities of a market economy" and followed crisis? That is. Just a fun. Europe, in its turn, has changed its mind equally easy a long time ago and cares about how to keep its own well being, maybe, to survive its unity. That is. This is K.R.E.S.T. Project in what site you are in now.

Well, let's see what is "Ukrainian Farewell" about...

1
There is solemn moment of farewell ...
Homeland was affected by flame
We were called to perform the commitment
We cannot live in darkness for life

2
The platform of rail-station in anxiety
Parting was with the brother and dad
In long tour do not lose each other
Welcome back being alive, as we wait

R
Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my household and yard,
Not everybody will come back

3
They fly and fly, my years
Not every soldier came to home
The only flashing stars,
As waves in ocean,
Appeared for them in the cold sky
The only flashing stars
As waves in ocean,
Appeared for them in the cold sky

4
The Nazis horde appeared uncounted
They trod the fields and oppressed our folk
Around plains grew plenty graves
And rye was blazed with a huge of smoke

5
We will never fall down at knees
We are able to restore brotherhood
Being so suffering for a freedom
In the crisis we'll keep homeland

R
Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my household and yard,
Not everybody will come back

6
With "Slavyanka" we went to a fight
Marsh "Slavyanka" sounds tocsin
We drove those all the Nazis to West
With "Slavyanka" we came home back

7
ETERNAL GLORY TO HERO-SOLDIER
HE DEFENDED HIS FOLK IN THE FIGHT
AND HE BROUGHT BEFORE US HOLY VICTORY
SLAVIC SOLDIER, HE HAS ALL WITHSTOOD!

P.S. I my singing interpretations I support the peaceful wording, as much as possible. This is because the main point in the song is FAREWELL, but military fighting. But in this interpretation into English I felt comfortable to keep original Ukrainian language as much as possible, with the only change "Germany" to "Nazis" when in the words "Клятий ворог топтав наші ниви, Поневолив і села, й міста" is mentioned Nazism in WWII, so I used citation to name that enemy from English version of "The Holy War" by A.Аrtemov.

"The Slavic Woman's Farewell" ©, 2014 - Translation from Russian version

From my past works and collection (e.g. http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1134092)

From here and now: WE LEARN RUSSIAN! - "We all have learned something somehow ... " says popular verse- find, which one, a-ha, cool! :-)

в конце концов политический конфликт между славянами, на основании которого я начал мое личное и непосредственное участие (see link and all related reports there at cnn/ireport.com) должен мирно успокоится сам по себе ...

Live Performance (by Zara & Pevtsov)

"The Slavic Woman's Farewell"

Translation from Russian version and Lyric written by Alexander Lazarev (1984)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2tgsV_8hsc

The song is a musical symbol of the capital city of Crimea, Russia.

1
There is solemn moment of farewell
And your lively attentiveness came
I catch keeping a gentle breathing
which at storm I can fairly recall

2
Blue and cloudy air is stirred up
Our temples were touched by alert
We felt called by Rossiya-Matushka
Only wind blows from our move

Refrain x 2

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Excuse me I shall say goodbye

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Not everybody will come back

3
They fly and fly, my years
Go into mist all trains
In them - the soldiers
And sky in darkness
So shines the soldier's only star
In them - the soldiers
And sky in darkness
So shines the soldier's only star

4
Outside of the cars glimpse small stations
Lights of dawns and an evening sunsets
Hot Farewell of The Slavic Woman
Don't forget - In the soul say it again

Refrain x 2

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Excuse me I shall say goodbye

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Not everybody will come back

Musical pause

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Not all of YOU, say, will come back ...

(The train wheels sound in background)

Addition to the whole text of translation

5
No space for indifferent soul
And fairness shines up close
For Great Love and The Brotherhood
Our lives were then sacrificed

Refrain x 2

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Excuse me I shall say goodbye

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all of us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Not everybody will come back

6
They fly, my years
And song is with us
It is supportive
The sky in darkness
And shines the soldier's only star

Refrain x 2

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Excuse me I shall say goodbye

Farewell, fatherland
Commemorate all us
Farewell, my darling glance,
Not everybody will come back

THE ORIGINAL RUSSIAN LYRICS

1

This Is All Relatively ©, 2014

The theory of relativity (just keywords, which prompted this one translation) has concepts, which state that space is contracted and time is dilated. Yap, they help to get concentrated on what to do now, (for whom), and prompt to all of us not to lose time for nothing. Something like that. Very useful theory.

Vladimir Vysotsky's Legacy

This Is All Relatively*

(from Soviet time movie
"The Arrant Crook" ("Последний жулик")

1
I don't judge difference, in sense of a beauty
I got an experience and follow law
Say, Albert Einstein the genius of physics
He got relatively and manages all moves

   R1
I'm changing appearance, since century asks -
You wanna exclaim by surprise:
"This is just another attractive one guy"
- Believe me it's me and you can advertise!
Sure enough,
All is relatively -
All absolutely. All.

2
Let's try a loincloth from the fur of a panther
Oh, no. I'm agree that would be too much.
But that was a dress of the era BC,
Since G-strings we wear, and you can that see

    R1
I've changed my appearance, since century asks -
To get you exclaim by surprise:
"This is just another .., let's say a nice guy"
- Believe me it's me and you can advertise!
Sure enough,
All is relatively -
All absolutely. All.

3
What if to appear as a knight in tournament
I hardly can be recognizable, indeed
I'm Richard, you know, Shakespeare entertainment
A horse before me! The half of my kingdom, I bid!

R2
But we gonna smile and do it through laugh
The fashion show headstrong one observer:
This is just another attractive appearance
But this is still me - I'm at your service!
Sure enough,
All is relatively -
All absolutely. All.

4
Here's my cane, I wear a boater to be as from NEP **
Let's shorten ovations! We'll save on applause
Already I see I am recognizable - well,
I wear for you what is my best.

    R3
Down the boater! I change this my cane for a stick -
I hear they whisper to me, all my ladies:
This is just another attractive one gentleman
My dames - this is still me!
Sure enough,
All is relatively -
All absolutely. All.

1

The Song about a Friend ©, 2014 ---------- ("Have a right one buddy, as a friend", by translator's remark)

A little bit in prose ... to make differences, as it was declared and even twitted by me.

As of today I continue to bear my cross ("крест" in Russian) by the means of already slightly known to Internet my blog first page: "K.R.E.S.T. - Russian English Singing Translations". As it is stated its Introduction,  this is an attempted "sharing within The New World my cultural background and related vision about necessity of a productive relationship between USA and Russia - two equivalent world leaders and competitors."

Suddenly I run into article, which proved my best intentions, because it appeared before me that my Fellows use Vladimir Vysotsky's Legacy to learn and teach Russian! The article in Russian was written by Anthony Qualin, researcher (an alleged university professor) from Texas, USA and that is available at: http://www.wysotsky.com/0006/040.htm

At first impression I can afford a light smile either: well, Americans always know better what to do and, what is more important - how. I am not sure that Russian can be understood completely, based on the legacy of a bard(s) only, even based on Vladimir Vysotsky, since he is favored worldwide ... as there is another famous saying, someday in past paraphrased by me, just for fun (sure in Russian) - you may guess about that:

[ Задача

Дано:  ... женским именем - символом России является имя Алла;  Именем - символом соперника России в международных делах является имя Сэм. Разошлись друзья во взглядах, думается временно ...

Вопрос: Почему?

Ответ:  (some prompts are generously highlighted in blue)

Second prosaic exercise (retreat), sorry.

Mr. Qualin says that the song I have attempted to translate right now was already translated (interpreted) by many others. I really like it, because I do never read other people (or alleged competitors) works and this is my strong point. I can scan that only after my own work completion and publication, but it has not happened. I write for my Fellows, people and societies, for their independent judgment.
In accordance to Mr. Qualin (again, the located article is in Russian) the list of those other people includes already many, and not limited with the list just below:

"Катрин Хэмильтон, Евгений Соколовский, Тамара Вардомская, Андрей Кнеллер, Георгий Токарев, Вадим Астрахан, Петер Струввел, Нелли Ткач, Аннa Тонконогая, Уильям Комер - # 1 (number one in accordance to cited source - BKZ) ... "

So what? Please join me either, Mr. Qualin, to your studies, who knows :-))   -   I've done.

                                                                                                                  Vladimir Vysotsky's Legacy

The Song about a Friend*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj1lVGKZRAo   - with a movie pictures

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2xO_FWR1z8   -   a song only

1
If your friend just appeared confused
If (s)he seems to be named "nice guy"
When you cannot comprehend a risk
Would be buddy well strong or weak, -
Take a bod into mountains - for a chance
Never leave him alone when climbs,
Let him be in tandem with you -
You will see yourself, who is that.

2
If the bod in the mountains - is aught,
If (s)he is quickly dispirited - wants back,
First approaching to a glacier - is courage loss,
If (s)he is doing false step - yells in fear,
Then it means that extraneous one with you,
Don't argue with bod as is - banish that:
Any dweeb isn't taken uphill and there
No songs are about something like that.

3
Well if buddy's not whining or crying,
Let (s)he's gloomy or angry, but going ahead
When you've suddenly fallen from cliffs,
(S)he has groaned, but did all efforts,
If the buddy followed you while in storm,
On that peak (s)he also enjoyed heady air,
Hence you always are free to rely
On this friend like on yourself.

1
